For me, my happy place is found when I am so absorbed in 'making', that all sense of time and everyday worries disappear. Before I know it I've created something that makes me smile with a warm sense of accomplishment at having tried something new.

I have recently gained certification as a Drawing and Talking Therapist and am now taking bookings.
Drawing and Talking is a person-centred therapeutic approach, often delivered in weekly 12-session blocks, that helps children and adults (from age 5 to 105) process trauma, emotional pain, and mental health difficulties by using drawing and verbal storytelling. Through a safe, non-intrusive process of drawing and talking, individuals can express emotions and make sense of their internal world, particularly when verbal communication is challenging.

My name's Mel and I run Creativate Bespoke Art Tuition. This is a picture of me in my 'happy place'. I was at a festival in 2019 and about to begin running a Mask-Making workshop in a big marquee.
My 20 years in Art Education has taught me that there is no ‘one-size-fits all’ in creativity, so I started Creativate to offer a more tailored and fun experience, for children and adults of all abilities, in relaxed and sociable settings.
I studied Fine Art and have a wealth of experience in mainstream education as well as community arts and running informal workshops at festivals and events.
It's really important to me that people really relax and enjoy their experience, so Creativate is all about you !
